If we clear a clog without figuring out why it formed in the first place, you’ll just call us out again in a few months. We started Millcreek Plumbing back in 2002 (remember the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics?) serving a single Salt Lake neighborhood. Your Water Changes With the Seasons
A good majority of Salt Lake City’s drinking water actually starts as snowmelt from City Creek, Parleys and Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. In the summer, the city’s Public Utilities also mixes in water from wells around the valley, which carry a lot of minerals. That’s one of the reasons why scale builds up on your faucets, and sediment in your water heater becomes more noticeable in July and August. So if you’re thinking about a water softener installation, that seasonal swing is worth considering.
Older Homes, Older Pipes
Some neighborhoods in SLC like the Avenues, Liberty Wells and Yalecrest have homes that were built long before modern plumbing materials. Yalecrest is even listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With homes that age, we sometimes find the original drain and sewer lines that the tree roots have been working into for decades. Permits and Who to Call

If your water main fails, every fixture in your house will feel it. And usually the first sign is a soggy patch of lawn, or an unexpected jump in your water bill. Our main water line repair crew will first locate the leak, restore your water supply, and then put your yard, sidewalk or driveway back the way we found it.
Water Heater Repair and Replacement
Popping or rumbling noises from your hot water heater? No hot water suddenly (or lukewarm showers)? Those point to different problems. Expert water heater repair starts by diagnosing the problem. Mineral sediment is a common issue here, and sometimes all it takes is a flush or a new heating element. But if the tank itself is failing, we’ll tell you.

Aging pipes and tree roots cause most of the sewer line repair calls that we get, especially with Salt Lake’s older tree lined streets. So whenever possible we’ll use trenchless liners instead of digging through your landscaping.
